She addressed post-apartheid nostalgia on contemporary art in her dissertation and is currently beginning to lecture the world on her art expertise. She has been a guest speaker and lectured in various renowned universities and art conferences across the world. Sanele Lukhele is an inspiration to aspiring nurses across South Africa and an excellent example of a leader in the nursing profession. She is not only one of UJ’s esteemed lecturers at the department of nursing but also the co-founder of the South African nursing students association. Lukhele comes from a family of nurses and inspiration came to her from their passion for nursing and the experiences they shared about working with patients. In , she was elected as the first black chairperson of the nursing sciences house committee and a year later she co-founded the SANSA a non-profit organisation aimed at bringing together nursing students countrywide in order to improve the image of nursing in South Africa.

She has devoted her career to date to the realisation of the values and rights entrenched in the Constitution. She served as a law clerk in the Constitutional Court to Justice Tholakele Madala and worked briefly at legal NGOs in India, which reinforced her commitment to the attainment of social justice and the protection of human rights through judicial and non-judicial mechanisms of accountability.
Matome is a tireless champion for the environmental rights of communities — particularly those affected by mining. Matome was born and raised in Go-Modjadji, a small village in the Limpopo Province, and grew up learning abut the environment and ecosystems at school, which sparked his interest in the field of environment.

The paper provides a critical appraisal of changes that have marked the political discourses on immigration from within and outside the Southern Africa region in the aftermath of the elections in the Republic of South Africa. It also provides insights into the connections of these changing discourses with the rise of social intolerance of immigration from other African countries. The immigration policy in the apartheid period was highly controlled and somewhat in favour of immigration of foreign labour within the Southern Africa region.
In the post-apartheid period, the imperative of social reconstruction and with it that of universalism in service delivery have induced a shift in the discourse on immigration, making it markedly exclusionary and selective, since the country has had concurrently to deal with increased immigration flows refugees, irregular and regular and shortage of skills.

Environmental justice struggles in contemporary South Africa have their foundation in struggles against t he legacy of apartheid politics and spatial planning discourse and practice. Analysis of post-apartheid South Africa requires framing issues within a historical context; taking into account a painful history that left deep social, economic, political, and ecological environmental scars. It is through recognizing the impact of apartheid that one is be able to unpack contemporary environmental justice struggles and how they are closely tied to socio-political injustice.
